Our Story
At Smooch and Release Fishing Guides, we are passionate about fishing and sharing our knowledge with our clients. We started as a YouTube fishing show in 2009 and have since expanded to become a go-to Striper Fishing Guide for all things surf fishing. These guided fishing trips will be memorable for sure!
Our Services
We currently offer Surf Fishing Guided Trips. This may include trips on the open beach or back bays for Striped Bass, Bluefish, Fluke, Blackfish, Albies, and more. The type of fishing will be confirmed through emails after you book your trip.
We will stay in contact with you multiple times before and after your trip! We look forward to spending some time on the water with you!
We will answer any question you have about surf fishing!
Such as:
Recommending rods and reels
Which line should I use?
When do I throw "certain lure" and why?
How can I read the beach in order to fish the best spots and catch more fish?
What knot should I use?
AND MUCH MORE!
Every Striped Bass that is caught during our trip will be tagged for scientific research through Gray FishTag Research, who partners with us, a striper fishing guide and other fishing charters, where you will be credited with the catch, tagging, and research part of it, which will all be publicly posted on the GFR website!
50% refunds will be available up until 7 days before the scheduled day of the fishing trip. No refunds will be issued within 7 days of the scheduled trip.
There is no guarantee of catching fish, and no money back for not catching fish during the guided trip.

Do you supply gear?

Can we go for something other than Stripers?
We have all the rods, reels, lures, leaders and more that you need for our trip! We will go over everything over an email after you book!

Yes! If you would like to target anything within an open season, we will target them!

Email me! We will work something out. Most times listed are tentative because of tides, client travel times, or the client would rather do a different time. But, email me and we will work something out to get you on the water!

Yes. Max is 4, so you plus 3 others, which would add up to $600 for 4 people.
Do you guide Montauk?

Yes! Montauk trips start at $400 for one person, and $100 per additional person (max 4, so you plus three others). MUST Email me about a Montauk trip before booking a trip.

It happens. Any cancelation within 7 days of the scheduled trip the client receives 50% back. (If the trip cost $300, the client will receive $150 back). **you do not have to cancel. Email me, and we will work out another date to go!**
